Literature Text

I fell asleep, lulled by the monotonous drop of rain, i sank deep into a dream. A dream wherein i care for nothing, floating in the sea, eyes fixated in the sky flashing with strobes of sugar stars and sweetened by the gentle lapping of the waves. Entranced, a tear escaped my heart. I clasped my hands together, fingers entwined, eyes closed, I willed myself not to cry, not to spill a speck of sadness in this sanctuary, the place, the moment that I treasure most. I smiled, content, in this place wherein the World doesn't care for me, and I, not having a single care for the World. I smiled, assured, in this time wherein the Past, the Future doesn't matter, only the Present waiting for me. And, as if trusting God that He granted my wishes, I opened my eyes. Only to see that the World, that the God I hold dear, betrayed me.

Sighing, tears flowed through my cheeks, as monotonous as the rain below the sky.
Don't worry, that alarm clock is long dead.
